We do that in countless ways. We provide safe, fun, character-building after-school programs. We teach children life-saving swimming skills. We provide community and activity for adults struggling with Parkinson’s, MS, cancer, pre-diabetes and chronic diseases. We bring kids of all backgrounds together to enjoy the simple joys of nature and childhood during summer camp.
In 2016, the YMCA of Boulder Valley awarded nearly $800,000 in financial assistance to help children and families access Y programs. In fact, one in three of our members and program participants enjoy Y offerings with the help of financial assistance.
The only way for us to provide financial assistance to those in need — 500 summer campers, 89 percent of our preschool and more than 1,000 members — is through the generosity of donors.
